La primera cita histórica de la Possessió de s’Horta data del año 1329. Durante la mayor parte de su historia fue una gran propiedad agrícola, que en el siglo XIV estaba formada por todas  las   tierras   conocidas  como  “de Marina” (1.700 hectáreas). Su apogeo tuvo lugar entre los siglos XVIII y XIX, aunque la primera parte del XX fue especialmente floreciente por el intenso comercio de vino entre Mallorca y Francia, truncado por la devastadora plaga de filoxera.
La Possessió  pasó de generación en generación de la misma familia durante casi cuatro siglos, hasta a principios del siglo XX, cuando fue comprada y parcelada, quedando reducida la finca a las dos hectáreas actuales. Sus grandes dimensiones y el hecho de haber quedado deshabitada propiciaron su uso como cuartel militar de artillería desde 1936 hasta los años 50, en que quedó totalmente abandonada.
En 1994, al ser adquirida por la propiedad actual, el estado de la casa  y  dependencias  exteriores  fue  descrito  como “ruina”.  Se inició una rigurosa rehabilitación  por fases,  restaurando  y  recuperando su  estructura   y elementos originales.

The first historical reference about Possessió de s'Horta goes back to the year 1329. The vast terrain of "de Marina", as known by XIV century, was a rural property dedicated most of its history to agricultural  activity  over (1.700   hectares).   Its  apogee  came between the XVIII and XIX centuries, primarily for the flourishing and robust wine trade between Majorca and France, truncated when devasting phylloxera reached the island.
La "Possessió"  belonged  to  the  same   family,   generation after generation, through almost four centuries. A new property master bought it and parcelled it at the beginning of the XX century, reducing its extension to the current two hectares. Its large dimension added to the fact of being a real unoccupied state satisfied   to become   a military   headquarter   for   an   artillery regiment from1936 until the early fifties. From this time on it kept as entire abandoned property.
In   1994,  acquired   by   the  current   owners,  the  documents described  it   as   "ruins."   A  rigorous architectural  rehabilitation took place on different phases. At first, recovering the building   structure  and   original   elements.
